Dr. Desando graduated from the National University of Health Sciences in 2001. Prior to studying at Chiropractic School, she attended the Universty of Windsor in Ontario, Canada.
Dr. Desando has been in practice with her husband at Albemarle Chiropractic Center since March of 2002. Since she began practicing chiropractic, Dr. Desando has taken many continuing educational classes on prenatal, pediatric and nutrition. She is the only local chiropractor who has received certification in the Webster Technique. (used for the treatment of pregnant women and other weight bearing individuals.
Dr. Desando is highly involved in the local community. She currently sits on the executive board of the Stanly County Chamber of Commerce as Past Chairwoman. She has served on the executive committee of the Stanly Partnership for Children. Currently, she is also a member of the Stanly Regional Medical Center Foundation Forum, and a volunteer Pilates instructor at the YMCA.
Despite her many responsibilities to her patients, 3 children , and community groups, Dr. Desando also finds time to teach Yoga and Pilates classes at her office. She recently learned to swim and completed her first triatholon in September 2011! She continues to run half marathons and has plans to do the Chicago Marathon next year!
