For many years, I was skeptical of chiropractors. However, increasing migraines and a desire to not be tied down to medication persuaded me to give chiropractors a try. I first went to Albemarle Chiropractic when I was 1 month pregnant to help alleviate my migraines. Since that first month almost a year ago, I have not had any migraines. This would be enough to make me a believer, yet that was just the beginning. A week from my due date, my ob/gyn informed me that my baby was breach (and was already 7 lbs.). The doctor was doubtful that the baby would turn this late in the game and gave me 50/50 odds. One nurse told me that I could try the chiropractor to see if she could get the baby to turn. The doctor agreed this would be a viable option. Wanting to avoid a C-section, I immediately called Connie who scheduled me in that day. For the next week, I went every day for her to adjust my pelvis in hopes that the baby would have enough room to move. It was awesome. My baby turned on her own and I was able to give birth vaginally. I fully believe that without the help of Connie, she would not have turned on her own. Not only did it save me money ($100 dollars out of pocket compared to the additional thousands a c-section would have cost) but it was much better for me and the baby. I am truly grateful for Connie's help, and any remaining skepticism has been erased.

Dr. Connie completely changed the course of my pregnancy, not once but twice! Around half way through my second pregnancy, the weight of the baby began causing pain in my hips; so much so that I couldn't walk without a limp. I started gaining too much weight, and failed my gestational diabetes test because of the extra weight. I couldn't exercise, or really do anything. I even started getting depressed because I didn't know how I was going to survive the pain for the rest of the pregnancy. My midwife suggested I make an appointment with Dr. Connie. I did, and was so relieved when she adjusted me and I started feeling instantly better! I had never been to a chiropractor, so I didn't know what to expect but it was great. I was able to start exercising, and even lost the extra weight I'd gained. The gestational diabetes was easily managed because of the exercise and a change in diet. Then, at 35 weeks, we found out the baby was breach. Dr. Connie went to work, and in a week's time the baby turned. Because of Dr. Connie's work and wonderful support, I was able to deliver naturally, which was my goal from the beginning.

I was told my 8 mo. old Abigail would need tubes in her ears
if her infections continued. I decided
to give chiropractic care a try since I did not want her to have the
surgery. Another mom referred me to
Albemarle Chiropractic Center. Abigail
was seen once a week for a month. At
her 9 mo. check the pediatrician looked in ear and said that for the first time
since Abigail was born her ear was a 9/10. (10 being the best!). I told her she was seeing the chiropractor
and the response was It worked! Abigail
now visits the chiropractor every few months as she grows and changes. Weve had no more troubles with her
ear. She loves her adjustments and
sleeps better every time she goes. My
11 year old Breanne, now goes for adjustments and loves it! I would tell any mother to try chiropractic
care prior to going through surgery for ear infections.

The chiropractor has helped me in so many ways. When I first became pregnant,
I started having problems with my lower back. I went to my OB/GYN and he said
I was having problems with my sciatic nerve and he recommended that I
make an
appointment with Dr. Connie. In
the first couple of weeks, I went in for adjustments
every other day. Then I moved
back to twice a week, and eventually once a week. I
also started taking yoga classes once a week. They were wonderful.
After I had been
attending classes for a couple of months, I realized how flexible I had
become. As my
due date approached, I increased my visits to the office and practiced
yoga at home
more frequently. I am so happy
with the results I have had. When I
went into the
hospital to have my daughter they were planning on inducing labor the
next morning
because they did not think I would progress much that evening and into
the night.
Instead I dilated from 3 cm to 10 cm in one hour and fifteen minutes,
pushed for
an hour and she was born at 12:28 am.
My doctors could not believe that I progressed
so quickly. I think that
visiting the chiropractor and also attending the yoga classes
helped me tremendously. I
recommend it to everyone, especially expecting women.
I had the most amazing pregnancy and delivery.

At only 8 days old my daughter Eva began showing symptoms of
colic. I made an appointment and
started seeing Dr. Connie once a week for about 6 weeks. At 8 weeks old the colic had totally
stopped. I couldnt believe the
difference in her. After about 2 weeks
of adjustments, I noticed that Evas crying spells were getting shorter and
shorter. She stopped any sort of fussy
period including her 3-6 hour crying spells.
This was amazing and so appreciated.
I had read many articles telling that chiropractic care would help colic
but I didnt believe it until I tried it.
I also would bring Eva in on occasion if she seemed congested. I had read that these regular adjustments
would help to prevent ear infections, reflux, help with regular shots and
teething and keep her aligned while she was learning to sit up, crawl and
walk. Eva is now 12 months old. She has never had an ear infection and in
fact has only been to the Dr. for 1 extra visit aside from her well
visits. I strongly recommend
chiropractic care for your new baby or child in your family. It is a great preventative measure and Eva
loves her visits to Dr. Connie.
